Marshmallows for Breakfast
Pac-ManI just picked this up from eBay:
I was a little bummed out to find that the cereal is all gone but at least the box still smells a bit like it. I was going to make a big bowl of 25+ year old cereal for breakfast and see if I lived or not but now that’s out of the question.
Here’s a commercial for this cereal from back in the day:
For all you weirdos, here’s what the backside looks like:
If I find one more box like this I can send in the proofs of purchase and get me one of them there Wacky Whippers! Man they look dangerous (and wacky!).
Pac-Man Roomba
Pac-ManMan, I haven’t posted in a long time. I’ve had some nasty cold or something, and between that and trying to keep up with work I haven’t had much time for anything else.
Anyways…here’s a quick post. This guy hacked his Roomba vacuum cleaner into Pac-Man (sort of):
Pac-Man Shoelaces – FOUND!
Pac-Man, Signs & DecorationsHello there. Back in February, I got me some Pac-Man skates. Alas, they were missing laces. I figured it would be cool to put some Pac-Man laces in them, and finally found some on eBay:
Behold:
I’m heading out now for my morning skate to Dunkin’ Donuts…wish me luck!
Marquee Madness
Donkey Kong, Pac-ManOh, man…it’s been awhile since I’ve posted. Guess time flies when you aren’t having fun.
I should be able to post a little more frequently when my current work project is finally complete.
I picked up 3 marquees (well…2 marquees and a CPO). They were all advertised on eBay as marquees, and I snagged them for $20.
I *think* the Puck-Man is legit. I will sell it to you for $500. “The Climber” must be a bootleg of “Crazy Climber”, but I can’t find any more info about it. If you know anything more, please comment.
The DK CPO is in really good shape…it has some small scratches on the surface that I can probably buff out. That’s the only piece here that I’ll actually use on a game. I know have a cabinet, CPO, and sideart for that project. At some point, I’m going to buy a PCB, marquee, bezel, and new controls and put it all together.
Pac-Man Lunch Box Proof!
Pac-Man, Signs & DecorationsI love surprises. Most people do, unless it’s one like “I’m going to stab you!!!!” or a fortune cookie that reads “food poisoned…you go bye bye”.
Well…this was one of those GOOD surprises:
I forgot that I won this on eBay. It’s an original artwork proof for the Aladdin Pac-Man lunch box made in 1982. I was surprised to see it stored inside an Aladdin envelope. Here’s a description of it from the eBay auction:
Up for bid is an original paper proof sheet for Aladdin Industries 1982 PAC-MAN lunchbox – front, back, and sideband. It is in perfect condition, bright and shiney, unfaded, no rips or tears. It is made of the same type of material that a poster is made of. It measures 22X32. It is dated 3/22/82. It has been folded to fit into a normal size file drawer. I found a bunch of these folded and in a file, I will be listing them over the next few days. This item has probably been in that file for 26years. Please ignore the camera glare in the photos – it looks like there is some fading – there is not. This item would look great framed.
More pics:
I guess this was a proof to get the artwork approved by someone (Namco?) or maybe just to get it approved internally before releasing the final product. I’ve never seen one of these before. The seller also had a Dragon’s Lair one that sold for a little more than this one. If you know more about this, please comment.
More Crap From eBay: Pac-Man Roller Skates
Pac-ManI just got these in the mail, straight from eBay:
I need to get some Pac-Man shoelaces for them. When I find them, I’m thinking of hanging them on the wall by their laces.
These are children’s size 1. All attempts to jam my size 10 1/2 feet into them were futile.
Here they are zoomed out in context with the room.
I have another very cool item on the way that I’m going to use to decorate the arcade. I’m hoping it will show up tomorrow. I’ll post pics when it arrives.
12 Shopping Days Left!
Pac-ManHowdy, partner. There are only 12 shopping days left until Christmas. If you celebrate Kwanzaa, you get an extra shopping day (you lucky bastard).
We have our tree up, but it’s not decorated yet. We will probably do that this weekend. It is however leaning a little more to the left every day since we got it Sunday, and it should fall over as I finish writing this post.
I don’t have anything new to report in the arcade world, but I feel so very badly for keeping you in the dark for 7 days recently, that I managed to dig something out to take a picture of. Here’s a Pac-Man switch cover that I got on eBay awhile back:

Isn’t it cool? The pic doesn’t show it well, but it’s about an 1/8″ thick and made of plastic. Unfortunately, the light switch in my arcade has 2 switches. Maybe I’ll remove one just so I can use this puppy.
Don’t Trifle With a Heavyweight!
Pac-ManHere is a scan of an ad I got awhile back on eBay:

I think this came from a magazine, but I’m not sure which one. Click here for the original uncompressed scan (9.4MB).
