I just picked up another Pac-Man today.

I don’t really need 2, so I’m planning on getting rid of this one.  I’m looking to see if anyone is interested in trading this for another classic.

I’ll describe it the best I can, followed by pics. It has Pac-Man Plus roms in it. It’s complete, and seems to play fine as far as the game board is concerned. Sound seems OK. The joystick is screwy, but it can be easily fixed. I looked at it quickly and one leaf switch was missing a leaf.

The game has it’s original power supply…not a switcher.

The cabinet is typical for it’s age. It’s not perfect, but it’s better than some I’ve seen. It has some scratches here and there, and no water damage. I’ve taken detailed pics of the side that you can zoom in on to see the condition.

Someone put corner protectors on it. They also painted 2 black stripes on the front. I guess they were going for a bumblebee look.

The monitor is blurry, and could probably stand a cap kit.

I just got back from seeing the Simpsons Movie with my wife, step daughter, nephew, and others. It was well worth the wait! It was very cool seeing them on the big screen, and I can’t wait for the next one.

I thought I was going to be able to announce something Simpsons related that was equally cool here but it fell through. I made a deal to purchase this Simpsons Arcade game:

I was the high bidder but didn’t meet his high reserve. I emailed him right away to see if he still wanted to make a deal. We agreed on a price and it was basically down to when I should drive down to get it. He said last night that he would call me in the morning to pick a time and so I can get his address. I had my phone on all day except during the movie, and no phone call came. I took the cash out on the way home expecting to pick this up Monday or Tuesday, and come home to this BS in my inbox:

I personally would never do this, but half expected it. He got another offer via email and decided to take it AFTER he already made the deal with me. Complete, total, *@!#$ face. I would highly recommend you steer clear of this ass-clown should you ever see one of his auctions on eBay.

My Dad picked up a Pachinko machine for me in New Hampshire and has had it for a couple of weeks. I finally picked it up today:

I know absolutely nothing about these, with the exception of what I just read on Wikipedia. It’s supposedly broken. Once I find out how to use it I’ll let you know. I don’t think I’ll be messing with it for awhile as I just got home from a long day of driving around. If you have any knowledge of this thing, please clue me in.

I am a big fan of the unknown. Paranormal, archeology, space, etc…anything we haven’t figured out yet in our time on this planet really interests me.

I just came across a story about a lost city discovered 120 feet underwater off the coast of India that dates to 9500 years old.

The vast city – which is five miles long and two miles wide – is believed to predate the oldest known remains in the subcontinent by more than 5,000 years.

This is huge. I read a book by a guy they mention in the article – Graham Hancock. In it, he talks about how almost every culture has some ancient story about a flood. That includes the Bible, the Epic of Gilgamesh, Plato’s stories about Atlantis, and loads of other sources that my brain can’t remember right now. He seems to think these flood stories all came from when the last ice age ended, when melting glaciers suddenly flooded many parts of the world that were not under water at that time. Well, they say in this article that this city dates to around the same time as the end of the last ice age, and was most likely flooded at that time.

Edit: OK… I was just reading through the forum thread where I found this and someone pointed out that the date at the top of the article page is from 2002! I don’t know why this was brought up recently. There is a discussion here about it for anyone interested.

I got my Nintendo coin stickers today from Rich at ThisOldGame.com.

I ordered one white set for my Popeye, and one yellow for my future Donkey Kong should I ever get one. Here are the coin mech stickers, complete with dirty coin door:

I haven’t stuck the larger sticker below the control panel yet, because I plan on restoring the cabinet someday.

I’m not sure how, but I stumbled upon this today. It’s an ad generator from Reeses, where they let you create a custom ad for peanut butter cups that you can send to someone as an e-card.

I couldn’t think of anything better to do, so I figured I would type something disgusting like:

You got your feces in my peanut butter….you got your peanut butter in my feces. Feces, peanut butter cups (sing along with me).

Now, while completely gross, that by itself is not really offensive. When I submitted that it said it found words that weren’t appropriate and it censored them. The censored image as is seems far worse than anything I could have come up with. Remember, it’s only sick if you are.

Hey! It’s been quite a few days since my last post, so I figure I better put something up here. Work has been keeping me a bit too busy to get a lot of arcade stuff done the past week or so. I have made more progress on the Moon Patrol bezel recreation, and hope to have it done soon.

One thing I wanted to mention for those readers like me who have been living in a cave for the last 6 years… the show 24 is incredible!

I’ve heard all the buzz surrounding this show, and was interested in it. I never watched it when it first came out, and don’t like jumping into a series mid-stream. My Dad told me it was great, so I started renting it through Netflix. OMG. I have NEVER seen a show that sucks you in quite like this does. We are completely hooked. This may possibly be the best TV show I have ever seen, and I’ve seen a lot. (come check out the ass groove in my sofa if you don’t believe me!)

We’ve gotten through the first season and the first few episodes of the 2nd. I’m hoping I can catch up on all 6 seasons before season 7 starts. Each season is like a 24 hour long movie, loaded with twists. I’m waiting for Linda to get down here so we can watch a few more.

Do yourself a favor…if you’ve never seen this show, just go rent disk 1 of season 1. I guarantee you will like it. If you are a non 24 fan and don’t go rent this disk in the next 24hrs, I will hit this puppy right in the nose:
