I’m not referring to the cat. He’s not that rare, there are loads of them all over town. I put the cat there for scale.

This Bart Simpson figure was part of a movie advertisement in select theaters, sometime in 2007 for the Simpsons Movie. From what I’ve read, they sent these to 1500 theaters across the country. Here is how he looked with the rest of the Simpsons:

I got him for a steal at $25! Seeing as our arcade is Noiseland Arcade, I figured we had to get him. Here is some good looking guy sitting next to him on our couch upstairs:

I have so little room in the arcade now, and had a hard time finding a good spot for him. We decided for now that he is best suited on top of our Simpsons Pinball Party machine:

I have been having some good luck with Craigslist lately. I’m hoping to pick up something else very cool tomorrow but I want mention what it is yet. I don’t want to jinx it!

It was marked down to $4.88, and they had loads of them. I saw them before and almost bought one, but didn’t want to spend the money at the time. I went today to get a copy of There Will Be Blood, and spotted these again.

Here he is outside the confines of his cardboard/plastic prison:

It has 4 LEDs, and is brighter than I thought it would be. The light can be extended by pulling it straight up from the base. To retract it, you turn the whole top of the base.  Here he is next to my new computer.

We have a few too many Simpsons Movie things up, and this was a little bent in certain areas. I didn’t want to throw it out, so I cut homer out with an x-acto knife and put him up on the wall with some spray adhesive:

It came out pretty cool…it looks almost like it’s painted on the wall.

He can watch us play pinball now. I don’t mind as long as he doesn’t get donut crumbs all over it.

They are on a paper backing. They would probably look awesome if I peeled them and stuck them to glass but I don’t have a window big enough to do that. I also think that if I did put these in the window, the neighbors would think find out that I’m a weirdo.

It was hanging in a Mister Donut shop in Japan! Mister Donut is long defunct in the US, but is still around and pretty big in Japan. This was advertising Simpsons donuts they were selling to tie in with the release of the movie in Japan. I have a friend that is living there, and he scored this for me.

We were snowed in on Sunday, so we figured it would be a good time to decorate our tree. Here it is in all its crookedness:

Notice the strange gray creature lurking under the tree.

I think this tree is defective, and we may bring it back to the nursery after Christmas. This tree looked great when we picked it out, but we can’t get it straight no matter how hard we try. Now I know how Richard Simmons parents feel.

Checkout this auction on eBay for a Kwik-E-Mart sign. This is from one of the 11 7-eleven stores that were converted to Kwik-E-Marts for the month of July as a promo for the Simpsons Movie. If you bought this, maybe you could convert your house to a Kwik-E-Mart. I unfortunately don’t have room for this big ass sign, but maybe you do!

What I do have room for are the signs inside the store. I was hoping I could post about obtaining those, but the deal fell through. When I first found out that 7-11 had Simpsons stuff for sale at the beginning of July, I shot down there and bought some – Buzz Cola, Krusty Os, etc… I inquired about getting the signs when they throw them out and was told by the manager to keep calling to remind him and he would “see what he could do”. I called about 3 times in July. Last call was a few days ago, and he said to call on the 31st. I call and he’s not there. The lady that answered said the signs were gone. I since called 3 or 4 times yesterday and today and he is supposedly not in. I get the feeling that I’m getting shafted here. I’m starting to know that feeling quite well.

Now, I don’t expect people to just give stuff away for free but if someone agrees to something, they should stick to it.

Anyways, I bought the 2 signs that I really wanted today on eBay. I’ll be posting pics here when I get them.

I just got back from seeing the Simpsons Movie with my wife, step daughter, nephew, and others. It was well worth the wait! It was very cool seeing them on the big screen, and I can’t wait for the next one.

I thought I was going to be able to announce something Simpsons related that was equally cool here but it fell through. I made a deal to purchase this Simpsons Arcade game:

I was the high bidder but didn’t meet his high reserve. I emailed him right away to see if he still wanted to make a deal. We agreed on a price and it was basically down to when I should drive down to get it. He said last night that he would call me in the morning to pick a time and so I can get his address. I had my phone on all day except during the movie, and no phone call came. I took the cash out on the way home expecting to pick this up Monday or Tuesday, and come home to this BS in my inbox:

Sorry, I had offered the game to my neighbor after the auction ended and didn’t think he was serious about purchasing it but he showed up first thing this morning with the cash so the machine is no longer available. Sorry for wasting your time, Jim

I personally would never do this, but half expected it. He got another offer via email and decided to take it AFTER he already made the deal with me. Complete, total, *@!#$ face. I would highly recommend you steer clear of this ass-clown should you ever see one of his auctions on eBay.

I may still have something VERY cool to post about that is Simpsons related in the next couple of days, so stay tuned.

It took about 2 hours to wrap, and lots of hot glue for the ribbons to stick. Misty our half cat / half demon spawn is protecting it in this pic. Please note that she is NOT hot glued to the top of the box! (she’s stapled)

It took a long time to get it out of the box! She flipped out when she opened it.

Then the legs were put on…that was a little tricky.

Woo Hoo! Finally got it setup.

Our arcade now looks like this:

As you can see, we are quickly running out of room. We have plans to rearrange some furniture and move these to the other side of the room which is bigger. I’ll post some pics when we do that.

For my Christmas stash – I got training DVDs and books from Randy Fromm, a compressor (so I can spray paint Pac-Man), and a bunch of other cool stuff.

Some more Pac-Man restoration updates should be coming soon. I have parts to order, and have some pics to post of the coin door restoration which is almost done. I’m waiting on some paint to dry so I can do one more coat.
