MoooOOOn Patrol Bezel Update
Moon Patrol November 1st, 2007Hey. I FINALLY finished the redraw for the Moon Patrol bezel repro I’ve been working on!
Here’s a closeup:
I’m putting the files together to send to Rich at ThisOldGame.com. From there, he’s going to reproduce it and sell them on his website. When I get word that they are available I’ll be sure to let you know here.
There is one more small piece that I’m going to work on…redrawing the paper instruction card that goes behind the glass on the right hand side:
They made different versions of these to use depending on your settings. I *may* have some NOS ones around. If I do, I’ll repro all of the variations of this.

Hey looks good! Oh and if you didn’t know the font in that panel is Helvetica Bold.

You did an awesome job on this. I can remember reading a forum post in the klov forums when you started your Moon Patrol Bezel project, but now I can’t remember. Did you trace all of those irregular black patterns into vectors? Or are they a raster piece with the other vectors pieces overlaid. I kind of remember some Moon Patrol bezel cleanup, maybe you just cleaned up the background splatter before you traced it….

So, where does this project stand? Last I heard was that an original Moon Patrol bezel was being mailed to Rich by another collector to get, what, color matching and material matching done?

Wade sent a bezel to Rich for color matching. When he gets it, he’s going to screen some colors on a small sample piece of tinted plexi and mail it to me. He wants to get my opinion on how they look. I guess he probably still needs to make the screens and then get to the printing. I think he has tons of projects going on, so I’m guessing it might take awhile for this one, but I’m not sure.

Rich confirmed early last week that he’d received the Moon Patrol bezel, but hadn’t had time to unpack it yet.

Cool Wade..thanks! I’ve been working on my Moon Patrol all day today. I brought it inside, did the t-molding and some other last minute things. I have a little bit of touch up to do tomorrow and then I just need the bezel to finish it.

Any updates on the Moon Patrol Bezel reproductions? Did rich send you the tinted piece of plastic with the screened colors on it?

Nothing yet…Rich said he ended up changing to a different plexi and is going to send me a sample.
