Merry Day After Christmas
Simpsons Pinball Party, The Simpsons December 26th, 2006Hope everyone reading this had a good Christmas or whatever you do (or don’t do) this time of year. Santa was good to us! My wife got a Simpsons Pinball Party machine. She loves pinball and the Simpsons, so I figured this would be perfect. I had a hard time keeping it a secret, but managed to do it.
It took about 2 hours to wrap, and lots of hot glue for the ribbons to stick. Misty our half cat / half demon spawn is protecting it in this pic. Please note that she is NOT hot glued to the top of the box! (she’s stapled)

It took a long time to get it out of the box! She flipped out when she opened it.

Then the legs were put on…that was a little tricky.
Woo Hoo! Finally got it setup.

Our arcade now looks like this:
As you can see, we are quickly running out of room. We have plans to rearrange some furniture and move these to the other side of the room which is bigger. I’ll post some pics when we do that.
For my Christmas stash – I got training DVDs and books from Randy Fromm, a compressor (so I can spray paint Pac-Man), and a bunch of other cool stuff.
Some more Pac-Man restoration updates should be coming soon. I have parts to order, and have some pics to post of the coin door restoration which is almost done. I’m waiting on some paint to dry so I can do one more coat.

Wow, that is incredible. We have an older (1979) pinball in our “game room” that my wife loves. She has given me the ok to get a nice pinball (a newer one with ramps and other fun features), but I doubt she would be ok with something that nice (I’m sure she would love it, but she would kill me when she saw the bill
.
Congrats, I’ve played that pin, and it’s a ton of fun, it would rank pretty high on my dream arcade.
Looking forward to those pac-man updates. I can’t wait to start mine.

>Congrats,…
Thanks. It is pretty cool…she loves it. I “discovered” the possibilities to pay for it with a new Discover card. No payments until 2008 so I have to get wealthy before then, or rob a bank.

Meant to ask you about the Simpsons Pinball Party.
I have seen it a couple of times, mostly online, once in an airport. Your wife was the one that wanted it, but are you a pinball guy? Have you played a bunch of pinballs and really liked the gameplay for this one?
I love The Simpsons, and would like one pinball eventually in my gameroom and was curious if this might be perfect. You bought this brand new then and had it shipped?
Funny at the end when I read your comment…you are going to have to start paying for it soon?

I wouldn’t necessarily call myself a pinball guy. I don’t know that much about them, but I do like pinball. My wife loves pinball and the Simpsons, but she didn’t know this one existed. I hadn’t played this before I bought it, but I figured it would be good due to reviews I read about it. I saw a video of it somewhere online.
I bought it new and had it shipped. We will have to start paying for it very soon unfortunately.
Out of all our games, I think that one gets played the most.
