Dream Machine Auction and Battlezone
Battlezone November 27th, 2006I picked up a Battlezone at an auction in Hull, MA this past Saturday! It’s in great shape, considering it’s 26 years old (I was also in great shape when I was 26 years old…not sure what happened since then).
Pixel (the furry thing in the pic) seems to like it, but has to stretch to reach the controls.

The auction was my first, and pretty fun. It was right on the beach at a Dream Machine arcade that was going out of business.

funny, I just sold a battlezone a little while ago. They are fun, but I wasn’t super attached to the game and ended up selling it to a member on the klov boards. Looks like you have a fun gameroom there (I like the skee ball score board shelf). Should be even better once you get the pac-man done.

The battlezone is a little broken now. It started going crazy. The mountains show, and the logo and everything, but it won’t draw the tanks and obstacles correctly. It just draws crazy lines all over the place. When I put it in test mode, error letters (currently “T”) show up in the top right which says it has something to do with the math box. I’m going to tackle that after pac-man is done, and I’m going to try to change the big blue that everyone talks about to see if it helps first.
Glad you like the skee ball sign. There is one on eBay right now (just the plexi). I’m going to create a post about mine at some point explaining how I made it. I got a custom illuminated frame made to fit it from photoglow.com, and it came out pretty nice. The shelf at the top is just one from Home Depot.

My wife actually gave me the go ahead to buy a 10′ skee ball machine from a local guy here (she loves skee ball, she also likes the arcades too luckily). I can’t seem to get ahold of the guy on the phone though, would be a fun (but big) addition to the “game room”. Don’t know where we’ll put it, we’re in a condo currently

LOL…you definitely won’t need a skeeball sign when you have a real one. I know what you mean. I’m running out of room already, and I just started this stuff.
